More late-night video game battle themes!
Tonight we have “Desperate Fight” from the Valkyria Chronicles soundtrack, composed by Sakimoto Hitoshi. (Who, incidentally, is one of my favorites for game music; I rather like his rather natural-sounding orchestral style and his use of brass/horns \o/ I actually liked his soundtrack for Final Fantasy XII more than some of Uematsu’s FFX pieces, which is blasphemy I know) Which is just one of many, many battle themes the game has ‘cos hey, the whole game is battles (being a strategic/tactical war-based game and all). And boy, this game has some great battle themes.
…Have I also mentioned this is a fantastic, if somewhat under-appreciated game? Because it really is fantastic. (But play it with the Japanese voice cast, not the dub; Sakurai Takahiro the Japanese voice cast is A++.)
